Anyone who has acquired their professional qualification abroad can have the equivalence of their qualification with a German profession or qualification checked. This is necessary in order to be allowed to practice the profession you have learned in Germany. The equivalence of the qualifications obtained abroad with a German reference qualification, such as a Chamber of Industry and Commerce profession, is checked. The Professional Qualifications Assessment Act (BQFG) serves as the legal framework for this.
