Have you discovered a rat in your garden, on the street, in a public park, a restaurant, a commercial kitchen, a bakery or a grocery store?

There is no obligation to report rats. 

In the case of vermin on private property (e.g. garden, house, apartment), private pest controllers can be called in. 

In the case of vermin on public property (e.g. park, street), please contact the public health department Tel. 361- 15551 or send an e-mail to: 

ortshygiene@gesundheitsamt.bremen.de 

The Food Monitoring, Animal Welfare and Veterinary Service monitors compliance with the hygiene requirements for the commercial production, handling and marketing of foodstuffs and must therefore be called in if there is a rat infestation in relevant businesses (e.g. restaurants, canteen kitchens, bakeries, grocery stores).
