Register collection of large electrical appliances

You can register the collection of large electrical appliances from your private household. Registration and collection takes place via the bulky waste collection service.

Electrical appliances contain valuable and sometimes rare raw materials that can be recycled. You are also obliged to dispose of these old appliances separately from residual waste, as some of the pollutants they still contain may pose a risk to the environment. Bremen's municipal waste disposal service collects your large electrical appliances as bulky waste. Many retailers also take back electrical appliances in their stores.

Place your bulky waste in front of your property from 18:00 the day before - but no later than 06:00 on the actual collection day.

What counts as large electrical appliances?

Refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, stoves, electric heaters, air conditioning units, permanently installed heating and hot water appliances, televisions, monitors, printers, electric lawnmowers, floor lamps

In addition to harmful substances such as heavy metals and CFCs, they also contain a number of recyclable materials that need to be recovered and thus recycled. If WEEE is disposed of properly, it can replace primary raw materials (and thus their costly extraction) and make a significant contribution to conserving natural resources.

Requirements

  • Your large electrical appliances accumulate with a maximum volume of up to 5 m³.
  • The electrical appliances come from a private household in Bremen that is connected to the municipal waste disposal system.
