Port medical service


The Port Medical Service consists of two specialist areas, the actual port medical service and travel and tropical medicine (see there), including the yellow fever vaccination center in Bremerhaven.

The Port Medical Service is the first point of contact for all health issues that arise on seagoing and inland waterway vessels, both for seafarers and passengers as well as for shipowners and ship agents.

Infection protection, assessment of epidemic and other hygiene from ships, release of ships, issuing of certificates, taking of drinking water samples, inspection of ships' pharmacies, patient care on ships and seafarers' welfare, including advice in accordance with the Brussels Convention.
