Basic information
The Office for Roads and Traffic issues work site permits in the so-called reserved road network of the municipality of Bremen.
The reserved network includes
- a list of roads listed by name in accordance with an extract from the Law Gazette of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (see link in the "Further information" column on the right)
- all road sections on which local public transport runs regularly.
The Bremen police issue permits for
- all work sites on all other roads (so-called subordinate road network)
- work sites in the reserved network, provided the roadway is not affected (e.g. only the footpath and/or cycle path on a main road is affected).
Please note: If a container is to be set up on the footpath and/or cycle path, this is a special use. Applications for special use must generally be submitted to the public order office (formerly the municipal office ).
Applications for securing work sites must be submitted to the construction site coordinator (Senator for the Environment, Construction and Transport - Department 51). The application form can be found under "Applications".
The roadworks coordinator checks whether and to what extent work sites with full road closures are compatible with the annual work program. Such applications must be submitted in good time in advance.
If permanent or annual permits have already been issued, the start of work must be notified to the roadworks coordinator at least 3 working days before commencement.
Please apply for changes to the safety measures ordered using the change application, see "Applications".
