Hand in paper waste for disposal

You can hand in paper and cardboard at some recycling stations. You can find more information here.

Recovered paper is a valuable raw material. Paper products made from waste paper (recycled paper, cardboard and cartons) have a significantly lower environmental impact than paper products made from virgin fibers. Recycled paper is therefore also awarded the Blue Angel eco-label.

You can deliver paper and cardboard to the Bremen recycling stations.

This is paper:

  • Newspapers, magazines, books, brochures
  • writing paper and packaging made of paper and cardboard.

This is not paper:

  • Wallpaper, soiled paper and cardboard packaging (e.g. pizza boxes or used tissues), coated paper - this belongs in the residual waste garbage can.

The recycling of paper waste from private households is the responsibility of the public waste disposal authorities.

Requirements

  • The delivery of waste and recyclable materials is only permitted with vehicles with a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 tons
  • The delivery of waste and recyclable materials must be sorted by type and free from harmful contamination and adhesions.
  • The paper waste comes from a private household in Bremen that is connected to the municipal waste disposal system.

What documents do I need?

  • Declaration of waste origin

Upon request, the deliverers must sign a declaration stating their name, address including telephone number and presenting official proof of identity, in which the exact private origin of the waste and/or recyclables is stated and confirmed.
