Data transfers to public bodies pursuant to §§ 34 ff. Federal Registration Act (BMG)

• The Bremen information portal ("Landesmelderegister" - OLMERA) https:\\www.landesmelderegister.bremen.de is intended for public authorities of the state and city of Bremen for nationwide automated retrieval. After registration, the state register of residents can be used to retrieve the data.
• Bremen authorities wishing to register should contact the Senator for the Interior and Sport, Department 21, Citizenship and Regulatory Law.
• A decision on the application will be made there. If necessary, the Senator for the Interior and Sport issues a written order (e-mail) to the Specialist Procedure Management (FVM) for OLMERA at Dataport. The FVM carries out the registration.
• Public authorities in other federal states must contact the relevant central office in their federal state.

In the case of automated retrieval, the following data may be transmitted to you if this is necessary for the performance of a public task for which you are responsible:

1. family name,

2. former names,

3. first names, indicating the common first name,

4. doctoral degree,

5. religious name, stage name

6. date and place of birth and, if born abroad, also the country of birth

7. gender,

8. current nationalities, including the data stored in accordance with Section 3 (2) (5)

9. current and previous addresses, categorized according to main and secondary residence. In the case of moving in from abroad, the country; in the case of moving out abroad, the move-in address abroad and the country,

10. date of moving in, date of moving out, date of last moving out of a home in Switzerland and date of last moving in from abroad,

11. for the legal representative:
a) surname,
b) first names,
c) doctor's degree,
d) address,
e) date of birth,
f) gender,
g) date of death and
h) information blocks in accordance with § 51 and conditional blocking notices in accordance with § 52,

12. marital status, in the case of married persons or civil partners additionally the date, place and country of marriage or the country in which the civil partnership was established abroad,

13. for the spouse or civil partner
a) Family name
b) First names,
c) Name at birth,
d) Degree of doctor,
e) Date of birth,
f) Gender,
g) Current addresses and address of departure,
h) Date of death and
i) Information blocks in accordance with Section 52 and conditional blocking notices in accordance with Section 52,

14. information on minor children
a) surname,

d) gender,
e) address in Germany,

g) information blocks pursuant to § 51 and conditional blocking notices pursuant to § 52,

Data transmissions to other public bodies in Germany concerning the holding of data by the registration authority for subsequent automated retrieval are free of charge.

However, in the case of the written provision of information due to the fact that automated retrieval is not available, this only applies if the registration authority is responsible for the reasons for the lack of use of automated retrieval. A corresponding legal basis for charging fees for such written data transmissions is therefore currently being prepared.

How long does it take to process

The automated retrieval is available to you at any time after registration. Your request will be answered synchronously, which means that the requested data - if available in the population register and if transmission is legally permissible - will be transmitted to you immediately. In the case of written requests for information, a processing time of several weeks must be expected.
