The driver's license for passenger transport is not required for
- ambulances of the Federal Armed Forces, the Federal Border Guard, the police and the troops and civilian escorts of the other States Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty,
- ambulances of the Civil Protection, if they are used for its purpose,
- ambulances of fire departments and rescue services recognized by state law (in Bremen these are DRK, MHD, ASB, JUH, promedica)
- Motor vehicles with the exception of cabs and rental cars, if the driver is in possession of the class D or D1.
