Apply to repeat the compulsory state examination

If you have successfully passed the state compulsory subject examination for the first time, you can repeat it once to improve your grade. Likewise, if you fail the state compulsory subject examination, you can repeat it once.

If you meet the requirements, you can register for the improvement attempt. You can only register once to improve your grade and only the better result counts.

If you withdraw from the improvement attempt or fail the examination, your first certificate will remain valid.

Requirements

You have successfully passed the compulsory state examination on your first attempt or you failed the compulsory state examination no more than 2 years ago.

What documents do I need?

  • Registration for a repeat examination or grade improvement is made with reference to the previous examination number.
  • Please only submit additional documents if these are to prove a change compared to the first application (e.g. a change of name).
