Apply for recognition of continuing education courses for teachers
Have you completed a continuing education course to become a teacher for inclusive education/special needs education? Then you can apply for recognition of your continuing education measure at the State Examination Office or register for the examination.
Basic information
The State Examination Office is responsible for teaching examinations. It is responsible for ascertaining completed domestic and foreign teaching qualifications for the acquisition of the teaching and teaching profession qualification and for carrying out recognition procedures in this regard.
Further training measures which are essentially equivalent in content and scope to the requirements for training and examination for a special needs teaching post may also be recognized as further training measures. The decision on equivalence is made by the State Examination Office.
The further education measure concludes with an examination, with which the qualification for the teaching profession for inclusive education/special education is acquired, and is oriented in terms of content to the standards defined in agreements between the federal states. It is designed to qualify teachers to teach inclusive education/special needs education on a sound scientific basis and comprises two special needs education specializations. One of the two special educational specializations must be "Emotional and Social Development" or "Learning".
A continuing education master's degree program in inclusive education/special education that meets the requirements in the framework agreement on training and examinations for a special education teaching post concluded between the federal states is recognized as a continuing education measure for acquiring the qualification for the teaching profession of inclusive education/special education. This requirement must be proven by accreditation.
The scope of the continuing education courses comprises a total of 120 credit points. Previously completed periods of study, coursework, examination results, insofar as there are no significant differences, as well as proven competencies and skills acquired outside the higher education sector and which do not show any significant differences to the competencies and skills to be acquired in an accredited course of study, are recognized.
