Apply for energy price flat rate for students, (vocational) technical students

With the one-off energy price lump sum, the federal government provides relief for people in training if they meet the requirements set out in the Energy Price Lump Sum Act (EPPSG). Find out more here.
The one-off payment could be applied for between March 15 and October 2, 2023.
The statutory deadline for applying for the one-off payment for students and (vocational) students has expired!
Basic information
Students as well as pupils in vocational school classes whose attendance requires vocational training leading to a vocational qualification, pupils in vocational school classes and vocational school classes leading to a vocational qualification in a training course lasting at least two years, as well as pupils in comparable training courses can receive a one-off payment of 200 euros to relieve them of the increased energy costs.
If you are one of the addressees and meet other requirements, you can submit an application for the one-off payment online using the procedure provided. As a person entitled to apply, you will receive an access code and, if necessary, a PIN from your training institution for this purpose. You must create a BundID user account in order to apply for the flat-rate energy payment for students, vocational students, and vocational students. You can submit your application until Sept. 30, 2023. After this date, it will no longer be possible to submit an application.
Requirements
- You can receive the one-time payment if you meet the requirements set out in the Energy Price Flat Rate Act (EPPSG):
- You must belong to the group of addressees of the EPPSG. This includes:
- Students,
- In the area of higher education, this also includes, for example, part-time students, doctoral students, students on a semester's leave of absence, students at universities of applied sciences or students in a dual course of study.
- Students in vocational school classes whose attendance requires vocational training that qualifies them for a profession,
- Students in (vocational) technical school classes that provide a vocational qualification in a training course lasting at least two years,
- students in training courses at higher technical colleges and academies,
- students in training courses at certain training institutions that are covered by a legal ordinance pursuant to Section 2 (3) No. 1 of the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG).
- A differentiation must be made in the case of trainees: Eligibility depends on what kind of training institution they attend and what kind of degree they are aiming for. Trainees at a vocational school or a technical college who are pursuing a vocational qualification lasting at least two years are eligible for the one-time payment. This also applies to trainees who attend a technical college class that requires them to have completed vocational training.

- AND in addition, you must have been enrolled or registered at your training institution on the cut-off date of 01 December 2022,
- AND in addition, your residence or habitual abode must have been in Germany on the cut-off date of December 01, 2022.
- Persons who have carried out a study stay/internship stay abroad limited to a maximum of two semesters and were still enrolled/registered at their educational institution in Germany at the same time generally have their habitual residence in Germany.
