Basic information
A person who has been admitted as a European lawyer upon application to the bar association competent for his/her place of practice is entitled to practice as a lawyer in Germany under the professional title of the country of origin.
The decision on admission is made by the competent body.

Curriculum vitae with photograph indicating the name at birth.
- Proof of nationality
Proof of citizenship according to § 3 paragraph 2 sentence 1 Law on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany (EuRAG)
- Certificate
Certificate issued by the competent authority in the home country confirming membership of the profession of European lawyer, not older than 3 months and accompanied by a certified translation (Section 3 (2) sentence 2 EuRAG).
- Proof of professional liability insurance
Proof of professional liability insurance either in accordance with § 51 BRAO via an insurance policy taken out in Germany or an equivalent insurance policy in the home country (§ 7 paragraph 1 EuRAG).
- If applicable: proof of the acquisition of academic degrees
Certified copy of the doctoral degree certificate or other evidence of the acquisition of academic degrees.
- Extract from the Federal Central Register
Will be obtained from the bar association.
